Web Seminar: Teaching and Learning with Web 2.0

You are invited to attend a Web seminar, "Teaching and Learning with Web 2.0" from 12:00pm-1:00pm on January 14 in ET@MO's Technology Studio for Faculty (266 Heinkel). In this seminar, Gardner Campbell of the University of Mary Washington will explore the concepts behind Web 2.0, some of the individual tools and services (e.g., Facebook, Second Life) commonly listed under this rubric, and its implications for teaching and learning. He will also present several uses of Web 2.0 tools and services, and comment on the good, the bad, and the ugly results. ET@MO provides this seminar as an exclusive benefit for Educause Learning Initiative member organizations.

Request, renew accounts for Spring '08 semester

Academic technology conference call for proposals
The MERLOT International Conference has released a call for proposals. The MERLOT International Conference is devoted to faculty development in the design, creation, utilization and evaluation of online teaching and learning materials. The conference theme, MERLOT: Still Blazing the Trail and Meeting New Challenges in the Digital Age, recognizes the collaborative efforts within disciplines and the education community around the World to enhance teaching and learning through the use of academic technology. The deadline for proposals is February 15. The conference is August 7-10, 2008 in Minneapolis, MN.
