Learn About Your New Blackboard Tools

Back by popular demand! We've added an additional demonstration session of new Blackboard tools: Wimba Voice Tools and Scholar. The session is Tuesday, Feb. 12 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm. To reserve a seat for this session e-mail etatmo@missouri.edu. Wimba Voice Tools are a suite of audio add-ins for various areas of Blackboard including Announcements, Discussion Board, Email, Content pages, and more! Go to a PDF of documentation on using Wimba Voice Tools. Blackboard Scholar is an academic, social-bookmarking tool integrated with Blackboard. Features include searching, tagging, and sharing bookmarks between users, easily incorporating collections of bookmarks into courses, and creating custom groups of bookmarks for each course. How many times have you sent an e-mail and, immediately after clicking send, realized it was delivered to the wrong person? An attorney for Eli Lilly intended to email information to a colleague regarding the pharmaceutical company's confidential negotiations with the government. Instead she sent the message to a NY Times reporter with the same last name. The reporter's "big scoop" included information about a $1 billion settlement. Read more
