Using YouTube as a Teaching Tool

During the Spring 2008 semester, students in Introduction to Epidemiology created video public service announcements on public health-related topics and disseminated them on YouTube. In this semester's edition of "The Innovator" read how Julie Kapp, Assistant Professor in Family and Community Medicine, designed this student video assignment to create a deeper learning experience for her students. Also featured are e-Portfolios at Mizzou, and the 2008 Excellence in Teaching with Technology award winners.

Using Blackboard's Self & Peer Assessment Tool

The Self and Peer assessment tool allows students to review and grade their own work and the work of their peers. This session is Thursday, November 20, at 10:00 am in Heinkel Building - 266 (Technology Studio for Instructors) and will show instructors how to use this tool effectively. Seminar by Candidate for Director of ET@MO

Dr. Danna Vessell is being interviewed as candidate for the Director of ET@MO. As part of this interview process, Dr. Vessell will be giving a seminar on November 12th at 3:00 p.m. in Columns C room in Reynolds Alumni Center. Ustream is an interactive web streaming platform that lets users broadcast their own channels on the Ustream network or on a third-party Web site such as MySpace or Facebook. Ustream offers a platform for users to host events, promote their own shows, or set up interactive conversations with participants across the globe, giving faculty free, easy-to-use options for streaming video and introducing new frontiers for authentic assessment in the classroom.
