Tech Smith the creators of Camtasia 5 have created a series of Quick Start Video tutorials for using Camtasia v.5. To access them, in Camtasia 5, on the file menu choose Help > Quick Start Videos. Or click on the link, http://video.techsmith.com/camtasia/5/edu/quickstart/enu/default.html
These tutorials give a good basic understanding of how to record with Camtasia and edit your recordings. Notice the tutorials that focus on Camtasia 5 and PowerPoint. These videos present a good understanding of the process.
