CPSrf Student Response System

Register Clicker

CLICKER ANNOUNCEMENTS

CPS Enrollment Codes (Activation Codes) are now available in the University Bookstore for the same price ($10.00) as those purchased online. Remember, only one code is needed per semester, regardless of how many courses you have using CPS. If you already have a clicker, you only need to purchase a code for the semester.

Students should read Returns, Refunds and Exchanges before returning or exchanging a clicker. Troubleshooting instructions are now available.

Having trouble registering your clicker? ET@MO staff will be available in the University Bookstore Textbook area from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on August 23 and 29 to help students who experience difficulties in registering their CPS clickers.

RESOURCES FOR STUDENTS

CPSrf response pads (clickers) are available in the University Bookstore Textbooks Department. After purchasing your clicker, you will need to also register and purchase an activation code. Note that activation codes do not have to be purchased for individual classes (i.e., one code is good for all CPSrf classes in a semester.) The process is explained in the Student Introduction Flash videos below.

RESOURCES FOR FACULTY

Getting Familiar with the Technology

Supporting documentation for CPSrf is available in both text and video formats. Also read the FAQ on Student Response Systems. ET@MO provides one-on-one orientation sessions and support for MU faculty using CPSrf, as well as classroom support.

Sample Syllabus Information

Feel free to adopt or adapt the following information for your own syllabus:

This class uses the Classroom Performance System (CPSrf) to enhance your learning experience. Students who do not already have a response pad (clicker) will need to purchase one at the University Bookstore. Every student will need a current Activation Code available online or at the bookstore. (Codes purchased online are less expensive.)

Instructions for registering and using your pad are included with the unit. You must register using your full name and student Pawprint. (Use your pawprint when asked for username or student id.) You will also be asked for a "class Key" for each class; this course's key is: ______. This information must be entered correctly in order to receive points for class participation and other exercises using CPS.

You are required to bring your response pad to every class session. Attendance will be collected using the CPS in addition to participation points. If you have technical problems, or forget your clicker, contact your TA immediately.

EFFECTIVE USES OF STUDENT RESPONSE SYSTEMS

Note: Some of the following articles and resources may use terms like PRS, CRS, and ARS instead of SRS. The advice and information, however, is relevant to any response system.
