Troubleshooting Your CPS Clicker

Register Clicker

If your CPS clicker will not turn on, check the following:

  1. Check the batteries
    • Are the batteries dead?
    • Are the batteries in backward (a not infrequent occurrence)?
  2. Look for moisture in battery compartment. If there is, you will need to exchange the clicker.

If your CPS clicker will not turn off or accept input, you should try to reset it. To do so:

  1. remove the batteries
  2. press a key for 10 seconds to drain any residual power from the unit
  3. replace the batteries
  4. turn it back on

If you clicker seems to be functioning but cannot answer questions:

  1. Ensure that pad is correctly registered. Log onto the CPS online site and click on Account Information.
    • Be sure the course shows up in the list of enrolled courses. If not, register the clicker for the course.
    • Be sure that the serial number on your clicker (visible when it is first turned on) matches exactly with the serial number registered for the class. Change this in Account Information if necessary.
    • Be sure that your PawPrint is entered as the student id. (This will not prevent the clicker from working, but will make it difficult for the instructor to identify you).
  2. Check with your instructor. Ensure that the clicker serial number and other information shows up correctly in the class roster. If the roster has not been updated on your instructor's computer since your registered, you will not be able to answer questions.
